LA and Disneyland

As we were only staying in LA for two nights we had quite a rushed visit here and packed quite a lot into the time we were visiting the area. We stayed in West Hollywood at the Chamberlain which was one of the more luxurious hotels we stayed in over the two weeks with its own rooftop pool and huge rooms. We also ate dinner here one night and the tuna steak I had was incredible. (Parking here was very expensive as you had no choice but to use the valet service so this set us back quite a bit!)

After checking into the hotel we drove to the nearby Beverly Hills area and wandered up Rodeo Drive as well.

The next day we went to Disneyland and spent the day exploring the park. I’d never been to any of the Disney parks so wasn’t sure quite what to expect but we had a brilliant day. We went on most of the rides and although some of the queues were long, we weren’t waiting for more than 30 minutes to get on anything. The parade was one of my favourite parts of the day and I was glad we’d waited around to see all the characters come past.

After checking out of our hotel the following day we decided to make a trip to the famous Hollywood sign and get some photos. After several failed attempts at finding it, we drove up a long steep winding road and parked as close as we could get (which isn’t very!) There were quite a few other people doing the same thing and we quickly took some photos and headed back.

Two days wasn’t long enough to spend in LA to get the most out of the place and we felt if we came again that we’d put a lot more time into exploring.
