At the beginning of June last year we took an amazing trip to America to celebrate our honeymoon. Having got married just two days before it was a really exciting time and something we’d both been looking forward to.
After a ridiculously long flight with a change in Philidelphia, we eventually landed at our first destination – Las Vegas. Stepping out of the airport, the first thing that hits you is the heat, even at 7pm it was stifling hot. Our ‘Stay-Well Room’ at the MGM Grand awaited and did not disappoint; developed with travellers in mind it makes the most of new technology including a Vitamin C shower!
Awake at 6am the next day due to jet lag we set out to explore Vegas and get some breakfast. As this was my first experience of America I had only heard about the amazing selections on offer for breakfast and we stopped off at the nearest Dennys for some pancakes. After that, we walked along the main street and checked out some of the famous hotels including the Bellagio and the Venetian and did some sightseeing.
After two great days exploring we set off in our hired Mustang convertible to start our roadtrip, stopping off at the Hoover Dam along the way. It was a brilliant way to start our holiday and we were both glad we’d chosen to start here. Next stop Palm Springs…
